Archiv Rebellion the Recaller deutsch reggae-bash: Du hast endlich dein neues Album “Movin on” aufgenommen, das nun in Deutschland veröffentlicht wird. Was können wir von deinem Werk erwarten? Rebellion: Gute Güte, positiven Antrieb, Erinnerungen ebenso wie Warnungen, alles Gute, wie es ein durchschnittlicher, gesunder Mensch definieren würde, denn wir sollten immer daran denken und niemals vergessen, dass wenn jemand sagt „Liebe steht an erster Stelle“ heißt das einfach, dass Gott an erster Stelle steht! Der Herr, Gott, Der Allmächtige, Der Schöpfer von Himmel und Erde, dessen erhabene Natur noch viel höher ist als das, was wir ihm zuschreiben! Meine lieben Zuhörer können tugendhafte Information darüber erwarten, was unsere wahre Natur als Menschen betrifft, so dass wir die Größe des höchsten Gottes verstehen können trotz der Tatsache, dass wir uns alle in Ort, Rasse, Sprache und sogar Glauben unterscheiden. Wir sollten uns selbst erkennen, wenn wir über das „Leben auf der Erde“ sprechen, denn wir sind alle rational denkende Wesen, ausgestattet mit großartigen Fähigkeiten, wie uns Gott sagte: „Ich habe Euch nach meinem Ebenbild erschaffen.“ Anders als Hunde, Ratten oder Schlangen stehen wir auf zwei Beinen, wie edle Kreaturen und all das, unsere Präsenz hier auf der Erde, unsere Aktivitäten sollten Zeichen für uns sein, nachzudenken und uns über uns selbst Gedanken zu machen! reggae-bash: Ist das Album anders als vorhergehende Erscheinungen? Was sind die Unterschiede und Entwicklungen? Rebellion: Es gibt viele Unterschiede… schau dir nur Ort und Zeit an! Es ist so, dass ich einerseits Songs in sonnigem Klima aufnehme, wo eine sensationelle Stimmung erblüht durch die Atmosphäre und die Lebensumstände und auf der anderen Seite an einem Ort, wo das Wetter fast immer grau ist, der Himmel ist verregnet, es gibt Schatten und viel Beton! All die Unterschiede und Entwicklungen wären eine wirklich ausführliche Beschreibung, aber die Wahrheit ist, dass es mit Sicherheit ein paar Dinge gibt, die gleich geblieben sind über die lange Zeit hinweg, besonders bei einer Kunstform wie Musik! Dennoch ist unser Geist ständig in einer Entwicklung, die sich aus Veränderungen und Unterschieden ergibt! Sogar unser Körper verändert sich, unser Organismus, wie wir mit unserer Umwelt umgehen und wie wir uns untereinander ausdrücken. reggae-bash: Was hat dich beim Schreiben deiner Songs inspiriert? Rebellion: Also, die Umstände, Orte und Zeit waren immer Bestandteil meiner Inspiration… Aber als ich mich selbst gefragt habe, wie ich das Unverstandene den Menschen überall auf der Welt verständlich machen kann, hat mich das noch zu intensiverer Meditation geführt! Also würde ich sagen, dass der Wunsch war, das ganze Spektrum meines Glaubens, des Islam, als Moslem den Menschen auf der ganzen Welt zu zeigen. Das war meine hauptsächliche Inspiration als ich meine Lieder geschrieben habe, denn falsche Informationen und Propaganda darüber haben sich überall wie eine Plage verbreitet. Die Dilemmas, mit denen wir heutzutage konfrontiert sind, grundlegende Dinge wie Religion und Gewalt sind kontrovers genug, um jeden zu inspirieren! Wir wissen alle, dass viel Gewalt im Namen der Religion verübt wird, heute wie auch bereits in der Vergangenheit und auch der christliche Glaube macht hier keine Ausnahme. Allerdings wird heutzutage der Islam herausgestellt als „gewalttätige und böse Religion“, während Politiker und Präsidenten weiterhin ihre mörderischen Kriege führen und Millionen töten: Männer, Frauen, Kinder. Sie verbreiten etwas, das man vielleicht am Besten noch als inliberale Demokratie beschreiben könnte und senden Truppen und Killermaschinen im Himmel und zu See aus, um ihren Glauben zu verbreiten – und das mit Hilfe von Gewehren! reggae-bash: Auf „Movin On“ hast du auch mit Bobby Digital als Produzent gearbeitet. Wie war diese Zusammenarbeit? Warst du während der ganzen Aufnahmen und Produktion in Jamaika? Rebellion: IMmusic und ich hatten die großartige Gelegenheit, nach Jamaika zu fliegen und tolle Menschen aus der Reggae-Szene zu treffen, dank der Hilfe von RastaVoice, einem guten Bredrin, der uns mit vielen anderen Künstlern und Produzenten bekannt gemacht hat. Er hat uns persönlich zu Bobby Digital gebracht, was eine großer Ehre für mich war, einen der legendärsten Reggae-Produzenten aller Zeiten zu treffen! Ich muss gestehen, dass ich einer seiner größten Fans bin! Ich höre seine Musik und Riddims seit ich mich mit Reggae beschäftigte, kurz nachdem ich nach Afrika gekommen bin, seit Black Uhuru-Zeiten und besonders seit Sizzlas Anfängen! Bobby hat sich entschieden, am Album mitzuarbeiten, nachdem er es gehört hatte. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatten wir bereits mit den meisten Tunes begonnen, er fand sie wirklich gut und fragte uns, ob er etwas beisteuern könnte, was wirklich ein Traum war, das Ziel und der Wunsch, dass er mit einsteigt! reggae-bash: Wie wichtig ist es für dich, mit jamaikanischen Produzenten und Künstlern zu arbeiten? Wie viel Einfluss hat die jamaikanische Kultur auf deine Musik? Rebellion: Ähm, wichtig! Wie du weißt, liegen die Wurzeln der Reggae Musik in Afrika und sie hat sich in Jamaika weiter entwickelt, so dass sie eine Fusion von afrikanischen Beats und Riddims ist. Über unsere eigenen Vorstellungen hinaus, war und ist Reggae ein Aufschrei der Armen, eine Stimme für Freiheit, Gleichheit und Gerechtigkeit für jeden Menschen. Millionen meiner Vorfahren wurden verschleppt, gegen ihren Willen, an Orte wie Jamaika und viele von ihnen waren auch Moslems. Deshalb ist es mehr als nur meine Bestrebung mit ihnen zu arbeiten, meinen jamaikanischen Brüdern, Verwandten, einer Familie! Ich liebe Reggae Musik und ich fand es mehr als passend, dass sie für Auftrieb und Moral eintreten. Ich halte es für eine Möglichkeit der Verständigung und Übertragung zwischen den Menschen dieser Welt. reggae-bash: Nach allen Aufnahmen, dem Mischen und Mastern, bist du zufrieden mit dem Album “Movin On”? Rebellion: Oh ja! Muss ich! Sollte ich, nachdem ich mit den Jungs soviel durchgemacht habe, sollten wir’s auf die Welt loslassen! Ich bin sehr dankbar, was ich jetzt für den Anfang erreicht habe, denn es ist ein sehr weiter Weg, den man gehen muss! reggae-bash: Was ist dein Lieblingslied auf dem Album? Rebellion: Das ist schwer zu sagen, denn es geht mir nicht so sehr darum, was mir gefällt, sondern anderen, besonders wenn es um Lieder und Vibes geht. Es kommt mehr darauf an, wofür die Leute empfänglich sind. Und ich soll nur einen Song als meinen Liebsten auswählen? Wow, „Is it true“ hat tollen Vibe und Kraft und steht in Verbindung mit Jamaika, oder „Take it easy“ wegen der Stimmung oder „Movin On“ wegen des Kontexts oder „No other side“?! reggae-bash: Welche Titel werden als Singles veröffentlicht? Wer entscheidet darüber, welche Songs das sind? Kannst du Wünsche oder Vorschläge einbringen? Rebellion: Wir haben schon Gangstalaw als Riddim Selection und es gibt eine Grow with me Selection mit Black Dillinger darauf, sowie Sizzla, Jah Cure und Gyptian! IMmusic ehrt mich dadurch, dass sie die Riddims nach meinen Songs benannt haben, worüber ich mich sehr freue! Ich liebe es in einer Gemeinschaft zu arbeiten, in beiderseitigem Verhältnis und das trotz unserer unterschiedlichen Wurzeln. reggae-bash: Was für Pläne gibt es noch mit dem Album? Gibt es viele Konzerte, eine Tour, Video Drehs? Rebellion: Meine Pläne mit dem Album? Es wird einiges geben, wir werden das Album auf einer Europa Tour vorstellen und natürlich wird auch bald ein Video veröffentlicht… reggae-bash: Wie war die Zusammenarbeit mit IMmusic in Deutschland, da das ja dein erstes in Deutschland produziertes Album ist? Rebellion: Wirklich großartig! Ich glaube an Gott und an Schicksal, es war mehr wie ein vorherbestimmtes Treffen, so wie ich viele andere gute Menschen getroffen habe, die mich offen anerkannt haben und gemeinsam einen Beitrag geleistet haben, meine Karriere zu fördern. Es ist wirklich eine Freude mit ihnen zu arbeiten, davon bin ich überzeugt und ich danke Gott, dem Allmächtigen, dass er mich hierher geführt hat mit diesem Beweis hier: Movin On, mein erstes international veröffentlichtes Album. Ich wollte etwas nicht zu gewöhnliches, etwas besonderes zum Hören. Ich habe viele andere Produzenten getroffen, die wirklich gutes Material für eine Zusammenarbeit hatten. Aber das Ding war, dass der Rest sehr ähnlich klang, während die Variationen der IMmusic Riddims meine Kreativität geweckt haben, so dass ich ein ganzes, farbenfrohes Album schaffen konnte, so wie ich es mir gewünscht hatte! reggae-bash: Du verbringst viel Zeit in Deutschland, aber auch in Afrika und vielen anderen Ländern, durch die du tourst. Was ist für dich dein „zuhause“ und was bedeutet für dich der Begriff „zuhause“? Rebellion: Es gibt für mich nicht nur einen Ort, der mein zuhause ist auf diesem abenteuerlichen Lebensweg auf dieser Erde. Aber alles was ich weiß ist, dass jeder Mensch einen Ort im Kopf haben sollte, der ihm am Herzen liegt, wo er auf jeden Fall gerne seine Reise beenden würde, denn wo ein Mensch bleiben möchte, soll auch seine Seele ruhen und das ist, was ich „zuhause“ nennen würde. reggae-bash: Vielen Dank für das Interview! Rebellion: Danke auch, es war mir eine Freude! (ursl) english reggae-bash: You finally recorded your new album "Movin on" to be released in Germany. What can we expect from your new work? Rebellion: Goodness of mercy, upliftment, reminders as well as warnings, any thing good, as an average, sane human being could define it; because we should always acknowledge and never ignore that whenever you hear someone saying “love comes first” it simply means God comes first! Lord, God, Almighty, Creator, Originator of all the heaven and the earth, whose sublime nature is far above all what they ascribe unto him! My dear audiences can expect virtuous information concernings our true nature as humans in order to understand the greatness of the most high one God, despite the fact that we all differ in place, race, language and even creed! We should know ourselves within what we call "life on earth", because we are a rational species endowed with great qualities, as we are told by God: “We have created you in the best form”. Unlike dogs, rats or snakes we stand on two feet, like noble creatures and all that, our presence here on earth, our activities should be enough as a signs for us to reason and reflect on our own! reggae-bash: Is it different from your former releases? What are the differences or developements? Rebellion: Lots of differences…just check the places and the time! Its like, one the hand recording and voicing tunes in a sunny climate, where the mood and sensation flourishes through the atmosphere and living conditions and on the other hand in a place where the weather is almost constanly grey, the skies rainy, shady and full of concrete! Putting all the differences and development into details would be a whole lot of illustration, but the reality is, we can expect certain things to remain the same within the prolongation of time, especially in artistry such as music! Still, our mind is in a constant state of development which would obviously result in changes and differences! Even our body changes, our organism, our interactions with the world around us and our means of expressing ourselves among us! reggae-bash: What were your inspirations while writing your songs? Rebellion: Well conditions, places and time had always been factors of inspiration… But asking myself how to make the misunderstood understood to the people across the globe plunged me into a wider and far deeper meditation! So I would say the desire to get a true spectrum of my faith, Islam, as a Muslim across the people of the world was my main inspiration while writing my songs, because misinformation and propoganda about it has been spread like a plague in every community. The dilemmas we’re facing nowadays, substantial issues like religion and violence are truly controversial enough to inspire any one! We all know that a lot of violence is done using religious pretexts, today as well as in history, and Christianity is no exception here. But today Islam has been singled out as some sort of “violent and evilous religion”, while politicians and global leaders are carrying on their murderous wars, killing millions, man, woman and child. Promoting something that one could perhaps describe best as iliberal democracy, they are sending troops and killing machines across the skies and oceans to spread their beliefs and desires all around the globe by the barrel of the gun! reggae-bash: On "Movin On" you also collaborated with Bobby Digital as a producer. How was it to work with them? Were you in Jamaica during all recordings and the production? Rebellion: By the powers, IMmusic and me had the great occasion to fly to JA and meet great poeple in the reggae scene through the help of the one named RastaVoice, a good brethren who linked us with many other artists and producers. He took us to Bobby Digital in person, which was such a great honor for me, to meet one of the most legendary reggae producers in history! I should admit that I’m one of his biggest fans! I’ve been listenning to his music, riddims, when I started to embrace reggea music as my vibes shortly after reaching Africa, since Black Uhuru, and more attentively even in Sizzla’s early days! It was Bobby’s desision to get involved with the album after listening to it. By then, we had already started to work on most tunes, he really apreciated them and asked us if he could take part in it, which was a dream, goal and desire to have him on board with us! reggae-bash: How important is it for yo, to work with Jamaican producers and artists? How much influence does the Jamaican culture have on your music? Rebellion: Well, important! As you know, Reggae music got it roots from Africa and springs from Jamaica, as it is a fusion of various African beats and riddims. In the conditions which were beyond our will, Reggae was and is an outcry of the sufferer, a voice of freedom, equal rights and justice for every human being. Millions of my ancestors been taken away unwillingly, deliberately to places like Jamaica, and many of them were Muslims too. So it is more than an aspiration for me to work with my Jamaican brethrens, relatives, family! I love reggae music and I found it more suitable to advocate what I got to say in terms of uplifment and morality. I see it as a means of communication and transmission to the poeple of the world. reggae-bash: After all the recording, mixing and mastering are you happy and satisfied with your album "Movin On"? Rebellion: Oh, yes! I have to! I should be, after having been through it with the youths before unleashing it to the world! I give thanks for what I have achieved now as a start, because it is a mighty long way to go! reggae-bash: What’s your favourite song on the album? Rebellion: That would be hard for me to say, because I dont really take on  what is favourable to me but to others, especially in tunes, in vibes. Its more like what the people found a more receptive to. To single out only one tune as my favourite? Waw, “Is It True” for the vibe and powers in it and being in Jamaica, or “Take it Easy” for its mood or “Movin On”  because of its context, or “No other Side”?! reggae-bash: Which songs are going to be released as singles? Who get’s to decide which songs are released as singles? Can you make wishes or advance your opinions? Rebellion: We already got Gangstalaw as a riddim selection, and we’re having the "Grow with Me" selection with Black Dilinger pon it, Sizzla, Jah Cure, and Gyptian! IMmusic decided to honor me by naming the riddims after my tunes, which I’m very glad of! As I concider it, I love to work collectively, as a mutual work together despite the different background we might all be deriving from. reggae-bash: What plans are there along with the album? Are you playing a lot of shows, do you tour, is there going to be a video shoot? Rebellion: My plans along with the album? We’re gonna have series of exposures, presenting the album on a European Tour and so on and of course we’re also working on video which will be released soon… reggae-bash: How was working with IM Music in Germany as it is your first German produced album? Rebellion: Really great! As I believe in God and in Destiny, it was more like a preordained meeting, just how I met many other good people who have openly admitted me and contributed collectively to my welfare through my carrier. It is a pleasure to work with them as far as I am concerned and I thank God, The Most High to have ended me up here with this textual proof of mine: MOVIN ON as my internationally released album. I was after something not too regular, something rare to listen. I met many other producers with really good material to work on. But the thing was the rest sounded almost with the same structure, whiles the variation of IMmusic's riddims struck me enough to trigger my sense of creativity, to come up with a whole, colorful album in the way I wanted it! reggae-bash: You spend a lot of time in Germany as well as in Africa and a lot other countries you travel to while touring. What do you call your „home“? And what does the word „home“ mean to you? Rebellion: Well, I might not consider only one place as my home in this long adventurous road known as life on the surface of the earth. But all what I know is, every man should have a place in mind, dear to him, where he would definitely like to end up his journey,  because a man's resting place is his soul's resting place and thats where I would call home. reggae-bash: Thank you very much for the interview!
